ATTENTION – EXTENSION OF THE CHANGES FOR ORGANIC IMPORTS from certain countries from 1.1.2020 and additional new countries
The extension is valid for the period 1.1.2020 – 31.12.2020 and concerns as before the following countries: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation and MOLDOVA.
Additonally corresponding guidelines have been issued for CHINA for the same period and the same product groups. In the case of China, the guidelines also apply to goji berries (Lycium barbarum and Lycium chinense) and their derived products.
For organic imports from the above mentioned countries, additional inspections must be carried out.
If the products concerned from the above mentioned countries are first registered in Austria for release for free circulation in the Community, the competent authorities, together with the inspection bodies, will carry out an inspection according to the guidelines at the expense of the importer. Products may not be marketed as organic products until they have been released by the competent authority.
If you receive goods as the first consignee and from another importer, the goods may also only be placed on the market when the relevant inspection documents are available.
